Lectures in 2016/17: Modern Physics, Laboratory II for physicists and one specialized course on optical spectroscopy for graduate students.

-Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia, frpm September 1995 to present part time researcher,
Research in laser physics, nonlinear optics, integrated optics and condensed matter physics.

-ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from July 2008 till October 2009. Sabbatical year. Institute of Quantum Electronics, Nonlinear Optics Laboratory, Zürich. Project: Compact High Brilliance Single Frequency Terahertz Source.

-ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from Aug. 2001 till July 2002. Sabbatical year. Institute of Quantum Electronics, Nonlinear Optics Laboratory, Zürich. Project: Electro-optic micro-ring resonators.

-ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from Sept. 1995 till Sept. 1996 Oberasistent (Team-leader), Institute of Quantum Electronics, Nonlinear Optics Laboratory, Zürich. (50 % position), Projects: Crystal growth, Photorefractive crystal characterization in the UV, visible, and near IR, Optical storage, Phase conjugation in the near IR and at 2.1 mm. Reporting to Prof. Dr. Peter Günter.

-ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from May 1991 till August 1995 Oberasistent at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Institute of Quantum Electronics, Nonlinear Optics Laboratory, Zürich. Leading a group investigating electro-optic and photorefractive properties of KNbO3, studying the possibilities of the photorefractive phase conjugation in the near IR and UV, and building-up an all optical associative memory. Reporting to Prof. Dr. P. Günter.

- Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 1. 2. 1977 to 1. 5. 1991. Since 1977 working for the Department of the condensed matter physics at the J. Stefan Institute, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Permanent position of a research assistant (77-83), research associate (83-88) and senior scientist (89-91) in the laboratory for laser spectroscopy. The work primarily in the laser light scattering spectroscopy and nonlinear optics studies of ferroelectrics and liquid crystals.

-ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from 1. 6. 1990 to 31. 12. 1990.  Visiting-scientist position at the Institute of Quantum Electronics, Nonlinear Optics Laboratory, Working on the time resolved photorefractive effect and four-wave mixing in crystals.

-Université de Bordeaux, France, from 15. 2. 1989 to 31. 7. 1989.  Postdoctoral position at the Université de Bordeaux I, Laboratoire de Spectroscopie Moleculaire et Crystalline, C.N.R.S. URA 124, Talence. Study of orientational order of liquid crystals and Langmuir-Blodgett films by IR and Raman spectroscopy with conventional and integrated optical techniques.

-ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from 1. 7. 1988 to 31. 1. 1989-post-doctoral position at the Institute of Quantum Electronics, Nonlinear Optics LaboratoryProject: time resolved photorefractive experiments with 100 ps time resolution covering 20 ns time interval. Linear and nonlinear optical properties of an organic crystal, adapting measuring techniques for special sample geometry.

-Elected Associated professor of physics, 1995, University of Ljubljana, Faculty for natural sciences, Physics Department, Ljubljana (Slovenia).

-Habilitation: Lecturer in physics (docent), 1990, University of Ljubljana, Faculty for natural sciences, Physics Department, Ljubljana (Slovenia).

-Ph.D. degree in physics, 1987. The work was done at the University of Ljubljana, Department for Physics, Faculty for natural sciences and Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Title of the thesis: Nonlinear Optical Phenomena in Crystals with Structural Phase Transitions.

-M.S. degree in physics, 1983. University of Ljubljana, Department for Physics, Faculty for natural sciences and Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana. Thesis title: Brillouin Spectrometer for the Study of Phase Transitions in Crystals.

-Bachelor of Science 1976, university study of technical physics at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty for natural sciences, Ljubljana, from 1972 to 1976.
